Meetings are primarily limited to Chapter members but are occasionally open for non-members or by invitation of a Chapter member.  Each meeting agenda or invitation will provide such information upon notification.  The Chapter endeavors to provide relevant training focused on public procurement as well as overall leadership development.  Some classes are approved/accredited by the WV Board of Accountancy for CPE credit.  Questions may be directed to any of the listed officers, or by calling the Chapter President at 304-341-0723.

The current regular meeting schedules for the West Virginia Chapter of NIGP (including face-to-face courses from NIGP being held in Charleston in April, not limited to members only; non-members can take the course for a higher fee), are as follows:

Thursday, March 14, 2019 (Payment Processing – Sub-object Code Updates & General Procurement Information): Meeting will be held at the WV Department of Environmental Protection, 601 57th Street SE, Charleston, from 11:15 AM – 1:30 PM. This training and networking opportunity includes a business meeting after the training, which qualifies for up to one (1) hour of CPE as approved by the WV Board of Accountancy. Cost for non-chapter members is $10 and includes lunch.

Tuesday, April 23, 2019 (Ethics: A Survival Kit for Public Procurement): Meeting will be held at the Diamond Building, 350 Capitol Street, Conference Room 317, from 8 AM to 5 PM. “This course will introduce the student to ethical practices needed during the procurement process. The course will empower the student with the ability to make distinctions between competing choices that face the procurement professional. The participant will learn to focus on discernment, discipline, and effectiveness as vital elements of ethical decision making.”

Wednesday - Thursday, April 24 - 25, 2019, (Contracting for Public Sector Services): Meeting will be held at the Diamond Building, 350 Capitol Street, Conference Room 317, from 8 AM to 5 PM. “Faced with the challenge of identifying best value how do public procurement professionals successfully engage partners to achieve efficiency, effectiveness and the social goals of the community? This course examines the process beginning with the ‘make or buy’ decision, through special considerations of the RFP, contract award and contract administration.”

Other special meetings and training will be added based on need and Members’ requests.
