Justice Albright Recuses himself from Fall Term

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – West Virginia Supreme Court Justice Joseph Albright has advised Chief Justice Elliott Maynard and other members of the Court that, on the advice of his doctors, he should not continue to perform his full duties at the Court for the current fall term.

In a letter to the Court, Justice Albright said, "While my powers of analysis are fully intact, it appears preferable for me to concentrate on the healing of my body and the restoration of my physical abilities."

Justice Albright further indicated his intentions to resume his full judicial duties at the Court in January 2009.
