Media Rules for Justice Albright’s Funeral PARKERSBURG, W.Va. – Media who wish to cover the funeral service of West Virginia Supreme Court Justice Joseph P. Albright should be aware of certain rules about coverage. Justice Albright died Friday, March 20, 2009, of complications of esophageal cancer. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 532 Market Street, Parkersburg. NO STILL PHOTOGRAPHS will be allowed in the church during the service. Photographers will be allowed in the church BEFORE the service begins to photograph the sanctuary, but will be allowed to do so only from the balcony. ALL CAMERAS MUST BE OUT OF THE CHURCH BY 9:30 a.m. REPORTERS WILL BE ALLOWED in the funeral, and can take notes with pen and paper. No laptops, Blackberries, or other similar devices will be allowed. SILENT TAPE RECORDERS WILL BE ALLOWED. WTAP-TV has agreed to serve as a pool camera. Only one television camera will be allowed in the church, and it will be in the balcony. The Parkersburg Police Department will have an area set aside for media across the street from the Church. It will be possible to photograph people going into and coming out of the church from there.
