Family Court Judge and his staff ride the circuit

BECKLEY, W.Va. – Family Court Judge K. Bruce Lazenby and his staff will be riding the circuit on Wednesday, July 22, 2009, traveling by train to hear cases in another county.

Judge Lazenby was elected to the newly formed Thirteenth Circuit of Raleigh, Summers, and Wyoming Counties in 2008. His office is based in Raleigh County, but tomorrow Judge Lazenby, his clerk, and case coordinator will travel by Amtrak to hear cases in Hinton, located in Summers County.

"I thought it would be fun and also interesting to travel the circuit the way judges used to," said Lazenby.

The trip should take about 30 minutes, and if all goes well, Judge Lazenby said they may do this again.
