Kanawha Judge, Magistrate to speak at school’s career day

 SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Kanawha County Circuit Judge Duke Bloom and Kanawha County Magistrate Kim Aaron will be among the Career Day speakers this week at Alum Creek Elementary School in South Charleston.

Judge Bloom will speak to three groups of fourth- and fifth-grade students between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 10. Magistrate Aaron will speak to the same students between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 9. They will talk to about seventy students overall.

They were invited to the school by Counselor Fran Thalheimer. She also has invited Mark DeBord of the West Virginia State Police and Gina Sorrells, Director of Merrill Lynch’s Charleston and Associates Complex, to speak on Thursday. Deborah McDaniel, a strategic planner at West Virginia Criminal Justice Services, and Anthony Wiley, an engineering technician with Cantenary Coal Co., also will speak on Friday.
