KANAWHA COUNTY MAGISTRATE Charleston, W.Va. - Today the Supreme Court of Appeals received the resignation of Kanawha County Magistrate Kathy DeMarco, effective Friday, February 21. Late in the afternoon of Friday, February 21, the Supreme Court entered an order suspending her without pay. In submitting her resignation, Ms. DeMarco stated, "Continuing questions regarding my office have been a terrible distraction and have made it impossible for me to effectively carry out my duties as well as create a health concern for me that I have to devote time and attention to. It has been my great honor to have served the citizens of the county, and I want to thank all those who have supported me throughout the years." # # # |
