The Hampshire County Courthouse was constructed in the Neo-Classical Revival style popular in the early 20th century.  This style exhibits the return to balance and composure that marks much of the turn of the century architecture.  Facades of neo-classical buildings generally are symmetrical with a center door and are dominated by a full-height porch with classical columns.  Courtesy of the West Virginia State Historic Preservation Office.
