1.  Cindy Dawn Pauley (Surface) v. Jeanette L. Surface Gilbert, guardian of Cindy Dawn Surface, and American Casualty Co. of Reading Pennsylvania - 25808 -
Plaintiff seeks review of order denying award of attorney's fees and costs and seeks recalculation of prejudgment interest.  - To be submitted on briefs only without oral argument.

2.  Sherrill G. Ranken v. Joyce Pullen and Spice Rak Club, Inc. v. Alfred E. Harriston and Double O's, Inc.  - 25809 - Plaintiff appeals granting of summary judgment in a personal injury action.

3.   State of West Virginia v. Charles Barry Guthrie - 25790 - Defendant appeals conviction of sexual assault of a spouse. He was sentenced to 2 to 20 years.

4.  State of West Virginia v. Dewaine C. King - 25813 - Defendant appeals his concurrent sentences of life without mercy for kidnapping and 84 years for aggravated robbery.

5.  Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. v. Kyu Chbong Rowing & Human Rights Comm. - 25825 - Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. appeals the decision of the Circuit Court of Kanawha County upholding the decision of the Human Rights Commission holding that Kyu Chong Rowing was wrongfully dismissed from her employment with Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel as a result of national origin discrimination. Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel claims that the Human Rights Commission did not have jurisdiction to hear the claim.

6.  Alice R. Patton, et. al. v. Cathy Gatson, Circuit Clerk, et al. - 25814 - Employees appeal denial of unemployment compensation benefits.

7.  Lisa A. Combs v. John L. Haun, M.D. - 25824 - In this medical malpractice action, the petitioner challenges the adequacy of the verdict returned by the jury in the Circuit Court of Grant County.

8.  State of West Virginia v. Donna Lea Phillips - 25811 - Defendant appeals conviction of disorderly conduct ($50.00 fine), assault on a police officer (20 days in jail, $100.00 fine) and resisting arrest (20 days in jail, $20.00 fine).

9.  Robert Rollyson v. John David Jordan, County Clerk, et al. - 25538 - Defendants (leinholders of the subject property) appeal a writ of mandamus which compelled the Clerk of the Braxton County Commission to enter a deed for property which Plaintiff bought at a Sheriff's sale.  The lienholders argue that they were not given notice as required by WV Code 11A-3-19 and that the court erred in proceeding in mandamus. 

10.  West Virginia Division of Highways v. Jack Butler, et al. - 25791 - This is an eminent domain proceeding.  The condemnee seeks to have judgment of the lower court as to damages reversed and remanded for a new trial. 

11.  Patricia A. Mallet and Ernest R. Mallet v. Selbert Pickens and Anita Pickens - 25807 - This appeal concerns the invitee-licensee distinction.  The petitioners, although friends of the respondents, were found to be licensees, and their complaint was dismissed upon a motion for summary judgment.
