Judiciary to Cut $2 Million Out of Current Budget

Chief Justice Robin Jean Davis announced on January 6, 2010, that the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia had voted to cut an additional $2 million out of the current fiscal year’s budget to help reduce state expenditures in light of recent revenue projections.(Read More...)

State Law Library News

The State Law Library celebrated Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a brown-bag lunch on Friday, January 15.  The program was titled “Examining the Roots of the American Civil Rights Movement.”  State Law Librarian Kaye L. Maerz gave a brief oral biography of Dr. King and participants viewed a video that featured highlights from his major speeches.  The event concluded with a group discussion of the impact of the civil rights movement on the American culture.(Read More...)

Clarification of Leave Issues

When possible, permanent employees are required to have advanced approval for all leave (i.e., annual, sick, compensatory, etc.).  For example, if you have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow, you should request advanced approval from your supervisor.(Read More...)
