In the "Year of the Child, Too," the West Virginia Supreme
Court of Appeals is making children involved in Family Court matters a
priority. Prolonged uncertainty can have lasting negative effects on children
at the heart of Family Court cases, which can include divorce, paternity,
changes in custodial responsibility and decision-making authority, child
support, grandparent visitation, sibling visitation, infant guardianship, and

Supreme Court Hears Four Cases at Marshall University
The West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals heard arguments in four cases on September 18 on the campus of Marshall University. Supreme Court Receives $815,000 Grant to Improve Domestic Violence Response
The West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals has received an $815,000 grant that will allow its Administrative Office to work with the State Police, the non-profit West Virginia Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and state agencies to improve the way the court system handles domestic violence protective orders.(Read More...)
