W. Va. Judiciary Mourns Death of Judge Broadwater

The West Virginia judicial system mourns the Dec. 18 death of U.S. District Court Judge Craig W. Broadwater, who served 13 years as a state circuit judge before former President Bill Clinton appointed him to the federal bench.  He assumed that office on Sept. 3, 1996, and served in the Northern District of West Virginia in Martinsburg.(Read More...)

Mileage rate reimbursement

The Supreme Court in Administrative Conference approved an increase in the mileage rate reimbursement rate from $.445 to $.485 effective January 1, 2007.

Tax Changes

Effective January 1, 2007, Social Security has announced the increase in 2007 for the maximum amount of earnings subject to the Social Security Tax. The Social Security wage base is $97,500.
