Charleston, W. Va. --Virgil T. Helton, State Tax Commissioner, today announced that West Virginia taxpayers would have until March 5, 2007 to file their Consumer Sales tax and Withholding tax returns for the month of January. This extension of time is due to a delay in mailing of the coupon booklets. This extension does not apply to taxpayers who are required to remit the monthly payment using electronic funds transfer. The vendor will mail the tax coupon booklets in the near future. The returns will be considered timely filed as long as they are postmarked on or before March 5, 2007.
Blank forms are available at the West Virginia Tax Department website http://www.state.wv.us/taxdiv. On-line electronic tax return filing is available for both Consumers Sales Tax and Withholding Tax. Information and applications are also available on the Tax Department website.
