Retailers: West Virginia retailers may sell or lease only “covered electronic devices” (CEDs) that are manufactured by companies that are in compliance with the WV DEP REAP’s covered electronics manufacturers registration guidelines.

Retailers may check the status of an individual manufacturer by using the “REAP CED Program” link on this page. It is the responsibility of the retailer to report any manufacturer that is noncompliant to the WV DEP.

Penalties: Senate Bill 746 states that any retailer selling CEDs not authorized for sale in the state may be subject to penalties of up to five hundred dollars for each violation, but not to exceed five thousand dollars total for the year.

Recycling: Retailers are encouraged to offer recycling services for their customers.
