Directions to our offices and Charleston training center:

The diagram above should help you locate our Charleston offices. Division of Personnel employee training classes and employment tests are held in building 7, 2nd floor. Our main offices and training consultants are located in building 6, 4th floor. Metered parking spaces are available.

 If you are coming from the north (I-79 and I-77), take I-64 East (toward Beckley) at the I-64 junction. If you are coming from the East or Southeast (turnpike area), stay on I-64 West. From locations West of Charleston, stay on I-64 East. 

In Charleston take the State Capitol - Greenbrier Street Exit (Exit 99). The State Capitol Building gold dome can be see from the exit. Turn onto Greenbrier Street (route 114), in the direction of the Capitol Building.

If you want to use the metered parking areas, stay in the left lane and turn left at the guard station at the Washington Street intersection. The lot may also be entered from Piedmont Rd. at the Guard station.

Note: Additional handicapped parking spaces may be available. Please inquire at the guard station at the corner of Greenbrier and Washington Sts., or on Piedmont Road. The training rooms and our offices are fully accessible. You may enter at the Training Center (Building 7) main entrance.

Buildings 5 and 6 are joined at the corner of Piedmont Road and California Ave. These 8-story buildings are connected at the corner by a 2-story State Training Center (building 7). All persons without employee security badges must enter at building 7 (Fountain side). You must go through security screening and obtain a visitor's badge.


The training rooms are on the second floor. There are stairs and an elevator in the Training Center near the vending machine room.

If you are not here to attend training, but need training information, go to the Division of Personnel main office area. Our offices are located on the fourth floor of building 6, room 420. Take the elevator in building 6 and follow the signs. If you need to phone for assistance, please call (304) 558-3950 ext. 508.
