Target Population:       Non-violent adults with Axis I diagnosis of mental illness who have been charged with criminal misdemeanor or felony offense(s).

 

Purpose of Grant
Funding: 
       Funding was provided by a grant from the Bureau of Justice Assistance.  To Find out more information about the grant and this project you can visit their website
       Intensive Case Management Officer salary and benefits; contracts with psychologist or psychiatrist for eligibility forensic mental health and risk assessments and stop gap stabilization services; training, travel, supplies and equipment.

 

Sustainability Plan:       Establish successful program and seek continuation funding from DHHR, RJA, Department of Corrections, and other possible funding sources; seek additional or compatible grant funding as may be available; and partner with Community Corrections to sustain and expand program with potential tap into its new funding.

 

Clients

 

Proposed # of Clients per year:        40 maximum for the first year, with reassessment of maximum at the end of the first year.  Potential of up to 75 in the second year.

 

Eligible Offenses:        Misdemeanors & felonies; participants must pass a risk assessment and be non-violent.
Eligible Criminal History:

 

      No sex crimes or crimes with victimized children.
MH Eligibility:       Axis I Diagnosis excluding sole diagnosis of substance abuse.  Co-occurring disorders eligible.
