Kaye L. Maerz, State Law Librarian, has been employed by the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals since August 2004.  She directs and oversees the daily operations of the State Law Library and 28 circuit court libraries, supervising a state-wide staff of seven librarians and four library staff assistants.   She prepares annual budget and statistical reports and coordinates acquisitions, collection development, and staff training.

A native of Detroit, Michigan, Kaye has worked in private, corporate and academic law libraries.  She was Manager of Library Services for the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association Foundation Library, Reference Librarian at Wayne State University and the Detroit College of Law, and Technical Services Librarian at the Detroit law firm Dykema Gossett PLLC.

Kaye is a member of the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) and the State, Court and County Law Libraries (SCCLL) special interest section of AALL.
