Cases of interest for argument on September 1

On Wednesday's docket are two cases of significant interest. The first, PERDUE v. WISE, No. 31749, involves challenge by the state treasuerer and auditor to the constitutionality of a plan to issue nearly $4 billion in bonds to cover pension obligations. The case will be argued at 10:00 am. Filings since the case was granted include:


The second case was argued last term and is set for re-argument at 2:00 pm. IN RE: FLOOD LITIGATION, No. 31688 involves certified questions from the Mass Litigation Panel handling litigation over flood damage in southern West Virginia. Fillings since the case was set for re-argument include:Arguments are open to the public. As usual, Wednesday's proceedings will be webcast, and live audio is available via the call-in line at (304) 558-2601.
